Your Junk

I saw this car the other day in a parking lot at Home Depot or something. 

I thought good grief - what a pig!  It made me think about all the junk people carry around with them.  The past that hurts, the unforgiveness that messes up relationships, the addictions that keep them from being what God wants them to be.  We all have some junk - and its not all in the trunk.  Some of is right where everyone can see it.

I also thought about something else.  This car is pretty bad - but if you got in my car or truck you might think - what a pig!  I have my own junk I carry around - past hurts, unforgiveness, addictions...excess baggage.  My junk just may be hidden better because of years in the ministry.  Its easy to look at this car and think mine is OK - but is it?  What junk do I have that I need to clean out as I am on this Journey with Christ?  What junk do you need to get rid of?

Sunday Mind Dump

• Great Great Great service today.  I saw a lot of tears.
• People really do struggle with resentment and unforgiveness.
• I forgive you if you didnt make it today.
• Hopefully you went to your mom's church!
• Demon Hunter Song today - complete with special grunge voice - it sounded eerie - but it was a great song about forgiveness.
• Was cool to see a lot of families together at church today.
• Cool to see Chris Garcia of Revolution Fame there with his mom (and brother, sister-in-law, sister, and niece.) I love that family! 
• Gary, you could have let Taylor come with him!
• Im glad my team made me a "green room" where I can go over my notes and think - cause they absolutely sucked! 
• God let me pull it together and I honestly believe people were set free!
• Im really going to miss this series when its over - but emotionally I am wiped out.
• I talked about my own struggle with unforgiveness today in a very candid way.   It was emotionally draining.
• I feel the "Holy Hangover" coming on already - its going to be a doozy I think!
• Next week - break free from addiction. 
• Dont skip because you have addictions. 
• If you think you dont then your addiction is self denial.
• Great Mother's day with my mom and my wife. 
• We put a dent in the crab population in honor of Mom!
• My Mom is cool!  She has a blog!

This sucks!

Break Free From Unforgiveness

I am pretty pumped about tomorrow's sermon.  A lot of people struggle with the chains of Unforgiveness.  And sometimes we are so busy being Christians we dont even know it.  We are going to take a look at a passage in scripture a lot of (church) people have heard before - but maybe havent heard this way.  And I think its going to help us all break free from some of the wrongs that have happened in the past.  Its not too late to invite a friend to the next Episode of Prison Break at Crosspoint. 

Tornado Alley

I love living in Alabama.  We have a lot of fun things here.  The other day I was at work and all the schools in huntsville let out because of tornado warnings.  Not decatur.  We toughed it out.  34 miles west of my house in Leighton Alabama- this happened - and yes the same storm came straight for us.

Is it fall yet?

The writers strike jacked up a LOT of TV last year.  Just saw some news about next year's Heroes.  Summer hasnt even arrived - but Im already thinking about fall television...Yes, I am addicted to TV.

Stuff on the net

• Anne posts her thoughts about "boobies".  Guess what I thought about most of the day.
• A blind guy bowls 300.  I have 20/20 vision (with my glasses) and cant break 200!
• I'd like to see this guy try and leg drop me. What a nutjob.
• Sometimes I pee sitting down.  Im so going to hell! (but hey - when I had my colostomy I could do something else standing up)
• A Fart tax.  Maybe we could use the money to solve the gas problem.
• More may die in Myanmar than the Asian Tsunami - yet you hardly hear about it - and they refuse help.

House Arrest

This weekend some people are going to escape from House Arrest.  Yep - even us church people have imprisoned ourselves right in the Father's house.  Break free this weekend at Crosspoint with our third episode of "Prison Break!"  We are doing a song by a band called Demon Hunter.  Crazy!

One Prayer is Coming

Starting June 8, Crosspoint will participate with over 700 other churches in an exciting adventure and new series called "One Prayer".  If you could pray One Prayer for the church at large - what would it be?  During this series, we will be hearing from a few of the greatest communicators in the world about what we could as a church if we acted as One Church.  I am excited about this new series because we are going to do some things that are crazy impossible.  But God is into the impossible!

If you go to Crosspoint, start praying now for this series.   There wont be any NASCAR or Prison Bars for One Prayer.  But I believe the Power of God will overwhelm us as we join together with churches all over the globe to make a difference globally and as we do some things right here in Decatur to make an impact locally.  Together we can change the world!  Thats exciting.  But it also excites me that God is going to change Crosspoint - and me!

I didn't know there was such a thing as marijuana flavored candy.  Not sure why.  It never tasted good in brownies.  But thats another story.  But this article about it being banned in Georgia is funny.  Not because they banned it.  I get that.  Its funny because the guy that pushed the legislation through is named "Doug STONER"
