Holy Hangover

I am wiped out.  Spiritual warfare is intense.  When you are preaching  the gospel of the resurrection - the enemy will do everything he can to stop you.  He didn't stop us but he sure did give it a good try.

I didn't hear of the term "holy hangover" till I started reading a few pastor's blogs.  It's actually a medical condition brought about by stress.  I found an article mentioning it here.  I heard one time that preaching for 45 minutes is about the same as working a manual labor job for 8 hours.   I never did much manual labor so I'm not sure.  One time I heard someone say it takes over an hour to get over the amount of adrenaline pumped into your bloodstream from a sudden scare like a near miss car accident.  They went on to say when you preach with conviction,  that amount of adrenaline is pumped many times over and it takes your body a day or more to process it all - the result is you are detoxing from the adrenaline rush and headaches occur.

I've had these Sunday afternoon/night headaches for years and never understood it.  I've had one since noon today and WOW.  I feel like I got run over by a train!  Very bizarre.   Can't wait till I get to do it again!
