I need a water pistol!

Hell's on fire and we are going to put it out!  I am serious.  I just had a great conversation with a Pastor/Mentor/Friend and I think I could take on hell with a squirt gun right now.  This Monster series has shown me a LOT of things and I am FIRED up!  Decatur Morgan County will be THE hardest place in Alabama to go to hell from!

Sunday Mind Dump

  • Long Long Weekend.  Im wiped!
  • Van Halen's "Jump" as an opener absolutely ROCKED!
  • Our Guest Guitar Hero - Kyle Root shredded his guitar.  He's Amazing.  Eddie would be proud.
  • And the keyboard gave me chills!
  • The lobby was jumpin' today too.  Kids everywhere playing video games.
  • We dumped a cooler of ice in the lobby during set up.  That sucked!
  • KidZone was great today!  The kids LOVE the prize store!
  • The theater auditorium smelled like butt when we got there.  They must have used a dirty mop!
  • We mopped with some clean water and hosed the place down with febreze.
  • Awkward moment when our countdown ended and the band wasnt quite ready.  They made up for it with Jump though!
  • I thought Kevin did an AWESOME job with the six flags video today.  I'll post it later.
  • Imagine what he could do with a MAC and Final Cut.  Someone wants to fund it - I know they do.
  • I hit a zone at the end of the message and it was like an out of body experience...
  • Right till I realized I was missing a page of notes.  Then it felt like Peter when he was sinking after walking on water.   I took my eyes off Jesus and thats all it took.
  • Great to see new guests, people return from Easter, and some old friends today.
  • I love Roller Coasters.  Sometimes Crosspoint is like a roller coaster and I LOVE IT!
  • We started planning for our next series.  Its going to help people break free and some of the things we are going to do will probably freak people out!
  • The series after that is going to be BIG BIG BIG!
  • Do NOT miss next week!  You will want to kill yourself if you do - and since I warned you I wont be attending your funeral.
  • We are planning our beach trip for June - We are going to take 50 kids.  We want a bus.  Someone needs to buy us a bus!
  • We had trouble breaking down and packing up today.  Part was I went long.  Part is we arent efficient as we need to be.  Part is... well there are lots of parts.
  • Three people indicated they were trusting Christ today.
  • We get some interesting people at Crosspoint.
  • Some people need tic tacs.
  • I have a BUSY week.
  • Can't wait till next week!  DO NOT MISS!
  • Jesus ROCKS!

Another Monster Sunday!

We have another Monster Sunday coming up.  Can't wait to talk about Monster KHAOS - Getting Juiced.  It will be a blast.  Trailers roll in at 7:00AM.  More Guitar Hero - remember anyone who tries it - even if you stink - gets registered for an iPod.  More monster energy drinks and a pretty cool start to the whole thing.

Pray for me tomorrow too.  I have a video shoot to do and it CAN NOT RAIN!  Can't wait to see everyone Sunday!  Have a Monster Weekend!

Molly, Your Church Sucks!

Tim Steven's new book Pop Goes the Church should hit the bookstores and Amazon soon.  However it will hit my house sooner!  I am pumped up about this book!  Tim is clever, funny and serious about how the church can leverage pop culture to tell the story of Jesus.  I can't wait to read the book and with a chapter title like "Molly, Your Church Sucks!" you will want to read it too.  I am really fired up about the fact that our church's story is told in the book.  That boggles my mind!

I think the reason I resonate with this book though is my own experience.  I will never forget watching The Matrix for the first time and seeing the gospel story over and over in the elements, language and characters.  It was literally a spiritual experience for me and overwhelmed me.  For the first time my eyes were opened to what the Apostle Paul was referring to in Acts 13 at Mars Hill.  When it clicked - it was literally a life changing experience and shapes Crosspoint today.

If you attend Crosspoint we will get some books that you can purchase or borrow.  We want you to read it because Tim is telling YOUR story and YOU made it happen.  We will even be featured on his Website  - www.popgoesthechurch.com; which is one of the coolest websites i've seen in a while.

Thanks for writing this MUCH needed book Tim!

You can get it on Amazon - Click the book icon below:

Monster Things at Crosspoint

I got updated attendance total from Easter - All time attendance record - 173.  Yes - every person matters!  But guess what - we celebrate the SAME event This Sunday too!  Keep inviting your friends for Monster - because their life matters and God wants them connected to the Juice!

You do NOT want to miss the beginning of the service Sunday!  The place will be jumping!  Im serious, its not what you expect.

Saturday I am shooting a video that could literally kill me.  I cant believe Im doing it.  You do NOT want to miss a single week of Monster.  Keep inviting people to come. We need to blow through 200 and then find another theater to meet in!

The Magoo Virus is spreading

As you know I am a little accident prone and my friend Chris Elrod (who by the way had a funny video posted today) calls me Mr. Magoo.  Well it seems the Magoo Virus has spread to Mark Love, a buddy who planted Journey Church in Chattanooga.  Mark is bi-vocational and delivers trucks to feed his kids.  He was in a pretty bad wreck today while making a delivery.  Thankfully there was no major injury but this is a huge blow the week after you launch your Church.

Magoo

Please pray for Mark and his family.  Also if you have been in contact with me in the last year, I would get tested for the Magoo Virus.   Seriously, I may have infected half the church planters in the world at conferences in the last year.

We've both entered a rehab program

Apparently we are addicted to injury.  I went today for rehab for my frozen shoulder.  When I went out to set my next appointment Dana was scheduling her appointment after coming over from the Ortho Dr.  She tore her ACL and pulled her MCL.  3 Weeks of rehab for her - then surgery.  I have rehab for a while and then we'll evaluate.

Rehab is NOT fun - and I dont know how it can make you better.  I guess technically its called physical therapy.  I called it painful torture.  Seriously - a small woman made me cry like a 6 year old girl at a horror film!  I nearly passed out.  Next time Im taking vicodin before I go.  How that much pain can make things better is beyond me.
