I love living in Alabama. We have a lot of fun things here. The other day I was at work and all the schools in huntsville let out because of tornado warnings. Not decatur. We toughed it out. 34 miles west of my house in Leighton Alabama- this happened - and yes the same storm came straight for us.
We are having tornado like activity right now. I could be like Elijah and go out in a whirlwind. If there are no updates to this blog soon you can assume that I am asking Elijah about it personally!
Holy cow! Monday it was 65 and I was in a short sleeve shirt enjoying spring. Now its snowing outside and its like a freakin blizzard! Buy all the milk and bread you can to survive! I bet they close the schools within the hour! WOW!
Sitting here in Panera Bread and wondering when Five Guys Burgers and Fries across the lot is going to open. Looking forward to a real burger joint landing here. Its about time Decatur got some decent food besides a Steak house or Mexican Restaurant. I think we could desperately use some more restaurants here though. We have a Chili's on the horizon but that fits in the same class as Applebees, O Charlies and Ruby Tuesday. Here is what we really need
1. Fazolli's: We need a good quality, inexpensive Italian place. I am so sick of fast food burgers, fried chicken and Mexican.
2. Moes: We have a zillion Mexican restaurants and two Taco Bell's - but Moe's is in a class all it's own.
3. SouperSalad: Even I want to eat something healthy once in a while. SouperSalad offers tons of soup and salad choices. Its different - but we need different.
4. FireHouse Subs. We have the usual fare of sub shops - too many subway's. Firehouse hands down has the best sub among the chains. We had one for a couple of months and it mysteriously closed its doors one day. Rumor says the manager took all the money and fled. I have no idea but I wish someone would bring it back.
5. Buffalo Wild Wings. We've had way more than our share of wing places. All of them pretty much suck (or sucked) and the atmosphere is nasty. Its not enough to lease an old pizza place or strip mall and fry wings and pour Louisiana Hot Sauce on them. Buffalo Wild Wings has good food, lots of selections, and an nice atmosphere. We need this.
