ROLL TIDE ROLL!  Is it August yet?

There is a "consolation" round in my fantasy football league.  Now I get to be humiliated again - this time by this guy. 

My Fantasy team failed to score as many points in 2 weeks as I averaged per week all year long.  I got SMASHED in the first round of playoffs by Chris Elrod.  I have 2 players left to play games in the playoff round.  Right now the score is a whopping 225-117!!!   If they perform well I'll still lose by 75 or more points.  I stunk so badly in the playoffs I would have lost to every team in our league!  Thats after finishing first in my division. 

I blame it all on Dallas.  Terrell Owens, normally a powerhouse for me, scored an amazing 5 points in 2 games.  I assign blame to Romo who seems more interested in his girlfriend - Jessica Simpson - than getting the ball to the play maker.   I think she got as much camera time as TO did. 

Thanks Travis for talking me into this.  I have found one more thing I suck at and have lost the will to live.

As I said - UT seems to always find a way to dissapoint.  One more reminder why I am no longer a Vol fan.  Good grief!

The SEC Championship is today.  I used to be a die hard Vol's fan - but the luster wore off in the manning years - seems like they can never produce (T Martin was a fluke) and always manage to find a way to let you down (i.e. the Bama and GA loss this year).  Here they are in the Championship with 3 losses going against LSU who seemed have a clear path to the title - till the hogs showed up. 

Both teams have been playing some close games - and this should be a barn burner.  I think Tennessee will win and since they beat GA that might give GA a slight boost in the BCS due to strength of schedule - but not enough to put them over Ohio State.  Mizzou could lose to Oklahoma and that would make GA 3.  But then Ohio State has a cake walk to the national title over W. Va.  I really hope Mizzou wins so they can play W. Va for the title - which no one will care about except people in Missouri and West Virginia - then the real football matchup will be Ohio State and Georgia.

But today - I am going to be a Vol fan.  I hope Im not disappointed once again.  Go Vols!

And if Alabama loses tonight, I may stop watching football entirely.  For at least a day.  Good grief.  I cant believe LSU lost to Arkansas.  McFadden had an incredible game - but they arent even ranked.  When they went in to OT I thought OMG!  Its Kentucky all over.  When they went into the 3rd OT I couldn't believe it.  Deja Vu!  Then they tried to pass for the 2 point conversion.  Lets see - if you pass you can get sacked, throw incomplete, interception or touchdown.  If you run from a near goal line situation - you can get stopped, fumble the ball or score.  The odds are clearly better to run.  Right?  Plus you have an incredible running back of your own in Hester.  I cant believe that play!  Rumor has it their coach is bailing for Michigan.  Maybe he's already got that job sewn up so the national title doesnt matter? 

So here's what I think.  Whoever the National Champion is should play the SEC Champ (which could end up being a 3 loss team) and if they can beat that team, then they are really good.  If you go 12-0, 11-1, even 10-2 and don't have an SEC win under your belt - you are still untested and undeserving to be the national champion.  Dang we need a playoff system!

OK - I want to kill myself.  We lost to La Monroe?  Do they even have a men's team?  Are we sure they are men?  Im not sure Alabama has a men's team.  Good grief!  Lets see - after we lose to Auburn next weekend we'll have the same record they fired Mike Shula for right?

Yep we deserve this.  Here we see Nick Saban is already preparing for next years loss to Mississippi State.  Notice their coach is doing a little pre-game scouting in the background.

I love SEC football.  Stuff like this makes it even more fun!

I don't even know what to say.  The bible says pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.  I guess talking smack is kind of like pride and having a haughty spirit.  Yes Gary - I am 0 for 2 with Alabama teams vs. Georgia.  The Dawgs own our state.  You predicted all the wins accurately.  No the crow doesn't taste good!   I guess technically  we are 0 for 4 against bulldogs.  Both Bama and Auburn lost to Georgia AND Miss. State.  The shame of it all!

Great Day For Football!
