Sunday Mind Dump

• Holy smoke what a day!
• Batman jacked up our lobby experience today with 9:00 and 9:30 showings.
• I want to go see it ASAP!
• They had 6 people total.  Why do they even bother!  This is Decatur Alabama - not Hollywood!
• Still had a heck of a day talking about Politics - was Jesus a republican?
• Jesus wasn't in to politics - he was in to people!
• Hopefully we'll be able to post the full video this week - stay tuned.
• We pushed the envelope today one of the videos - i'll post it later.  Well maybe both of them.
• Shattered another attendance record today!
• 234 souls - in July!  Holy smoke!  Whats going on here?
• We are starting to run out of space!
• Two hour staff meeting today to discuss options for the next phase of growth!
• Get ready for some changes!
• Lots of options.  Lots of money too!  God aint broke.
• Still pumped about the spontaneous baptisms at Pig Out yesterday.
• The crowd was ultra rowdy today.  
• Tried to steal Gary Lamb's assistant, Taylor Garcia, who was in town visiting family today.
• Need her husband Chris too!  Would love to have the whole family.  We already got his sister, brother and mom!  Love that family!
• I didn't wear the coconut bra and grass skirt live today - but stay tuned for a video...maybe this went too far.
• We had a hoola hoop contest today between me and two teens.  I lost - but I think I looked the sexiest doing it.  Evan went non-stop for the whole two minutes.  Robert got great style points.  I had to lay down on the floor and breathe!
• Got a funeral to head to, then I think Im going to take some drugs and go to bed.  Battled a headache for the last 24 hours or so.
• Fun fun day!  God is Good!  Loving Crosspoint and what's happening.  I am amazed and humbled.

Sunday Mind Dump

• I am totally exhausted!
• I had a LOT of fun today talking about why we do church the way we do!
• We tried to live capture video today - the video looks good - the audio blows.  Maybe we can combine the video with our audio only recording and get a good video up on vimeo
• Im still blown away by how we transformed that theater into what amounted to a beach party.
• Snow cones were a hit with kids - next time we'll do something different though.
• Batman is going to hose up our lobby experience next Sunday.
• Everything else will ROCK.
• Kidzone was SLAMMED today.  They did awesome! 
• Bigger and better children's ministry coming - stay tuned.
• Had some new volunteers today - they were AWESOME!
• Yes I said you know its a good day at church when you get lei'ed!
• Can't get over the mandolin in Losing my Religion!
• My wife sacrificed her palm trees - she's my hero.  They MADE the stage.
• Someone gave them to us and Im glad we can use them for Jesus.
• We need new video volunteers - email Kenny (kenny at moviechurch dot tv) if you can use a mouse!
• Why does our computer audio out buzz? We cant figure it out.  Its annoying the crap out of me!
• Yes we lifted the ground, ran on battery, passed audio through a direct box - NOTHING works.
• I told a story about when I was 15 and "learned" to speak in tongues.  It was pretty funny.
• Lots of positive comments about a delicate subject!
• You CAN grow a church as a Bi-vocational pastor! 
• We have nearly doubled in a year - actually in about 7 months!
• Several people committed to follow Jesus - thats what the topic was all about since Acts 2!
• Pumped about Pig Out Saturday.  Almost 150 signed up!  Contact Kenny at moviechurch dot tv if you haven't signed up.  Bring your lawn chairs, frisbees, footballs, food and appetite.
• The BBQ will be INCREDIBLE!
• We spend a ton of money on this party - but seeing people take their next steps is worth every single dime!

Sunday Mind Dump

• Wow - what a day.
• Attendance WAY up - for a holiday weekend.  173.
• Band was tight today - vocals rocked.
• Preached from Acts 20 - Eutychus falling out the window.  we need to WAKE up.
• I preached on sin today.  Paul says to wake up from our slumber and stop sinning
• He also says we need to wake up and live righteously because some people dont know God and this is to our shame.
• That verse haunts me.
• Interesting the story was at a type of communion where they broke bread.
• The communion time was AFTER the guy was resurrected.
• Great reminder that we have to repent from our sin before we can have real communion with Christ.
• I botched the communion up a little - I assumed people would eat and drink when they were ready - all the baptists were waiting for me to tell them it was OK.  My bad.
• We went over about 10 minutes today even though I had fewer notes.  I guess I was having fun and wanted to preach like Paul in Acts 20.
• Record tear down time - 30 minutes and we were out!
• Best part of the day - praying with one of our pre-teens to receive Christ.  Her prayer made me cry like it was one of my own.
• Lots more people wanting to get baptized at our PIG OUT Baptism and BBQ
• Cancel your plans and come - you need to be there to encourage and support.
• The BBQ will be AWESOME
• We are having a MAN NIGHT - July 26.  Going to the Cage Fight in Hartselle.  $20.00 for ringside.  Contact me in you want to go. 
• Hot topics starts next week!  Invite a friend.
• Yes I said if we break 200 I will wear a grass skirt and coconut bra!
• I will do anything to see people come to Christ.
• Thats only 27 more people than we had today.  I can count 27 people that were MIA!

• Great staff meeting just finished up.  We have good people leading our church!
• Its HOT outside!
• My Holy Hangover is about to start! 
• Wouldn't have it any other way!
• Gotta vacuum the pool.  Then I might take a dive in it.

• Felt great to be teaching again today.  I brought it hard on reaching people
• Lord, Make Us Workers in Your Harvest!
• Yes, I laid on the stage and groaned like I was hungover - it was funny.
• I think our Video for on Hot Topics Series disturbed some people - it was funny
• Came up with some GREAT ideas for this series - I am fired up about it - July 13
• Pig Out Volunteer BBQ and Baptism Bash is July 19.  Make sure you sign up.
• Free T-shirts for those getting baptized!
• Got some God sized plans for KidZone this fall - we are going to 'energize' the place. 
• Pumped up about that.
• Had a TON of kids today.
• Some new faces today - AWESOME.
• Good too see some folks return today - AWESOME
• Some might not be back after today - thats OK too. 
• We are a church for ANYBODY - but not the church for EVERYBODY
• Bible Basic class tonight - love hanging with those guys.
• After its over I am going to CRASH!  Im toast!

• Fired up about Steven Furtick's OnePrayer message today.  
• It was pretty cool to have a personalized intro from him!
• I want to be AUDACIOUS!
• I havent preached in 3 Sundays.  Better fasten your seat belts!
• For some reason Im losing my voice though.  Whats up with that?
• Several technical and logistical issues this week.  We I have to work on some things.
• We have a family in our church who needs a cheap or free vehicle.  You got one?
• Had someone who has been coming tell me they love our church and the vision and their family is telling them they had better stay away from us.  I love it
• Loved having my WHOLE family at church today! 
• Unloaded about 500lb of groceries in my garage for the food bank
• We have some rockin volunteers
• Baptism & Volunteer Bash July 19.  Fired up about that!
• Big things coming for KidZone! 
• We are going to blow up at Crosspoint this Fall
• Hot Topics starts July 13.  A beach theme will be FUN FUN FUN!

Jesus, what did you do with my church?

Today's experience at Crosspoint blew me away.  First - its dead middle of june.  second - we have about 25 people at the beach - third our attendance was really good today - D - we are doing a series with video preaching - and we "borrowed" a band.  Plus - well - everything was different today - G we had a TON of guests! -  8 the experience was off the hook.

• The band, Owing Adam was great
• Gary Lamb's sermon melted people's faces off!
• Several People came up to me and said hi - i've been coming here about 2-3 weeks and love the place.
• Where did they come from?
• It's like we have a new church every week - way cool.  I love meeting new people!~
• People are inviting their friends to a video sermon series - whats up with that?
• Our Lexi House offering was HUGE! 
• I'll tell you next week how much!
• Next week - canned food and other non-perishables for the food bank.  Bring your groceries!
• Armed Security at Crosspoint - Oh Yeah!  We pack heat!

Other mind dump stuff

• Got a card from one of my kids that made me cry.  Her gift was very nice.
• Might have to talk with my other kid - haha!
• Celebrating 26 years - YES - TWENTY SIX - of marriage this week.
• Here's a video I made last year as a tribute to the HOTTEST WOMAN on the planet
• Shoulder surgery tuesday - they rip my arm out of socket and get it "unfrozen" - pray for me - I am a wuss when it comes to pain.

Sunday Mind Dump

• Great vibe in church today for OnePrayer
• Craig Groeshel's video was awesome...
• Right up to the point where we had a SERIOUS lip sync issue
• He was 1-2 words behind the audio.
• We tried in vain to fix it - even went to a secondary video source - it locked up our computer
• And we had TONS of guests.
• I wanted to eat glass I was so miffed.
• It was probably the last 2-3 minutes of the video.
• God worked it out I was able to finish up his message and no one seemed to mind.
• God has a way of humbling us at Crosspoint
• We are blessing the Lexi House with Gift cards and supplies
• We have sent a couple of girls there that are DESPERATE for help!
• Bring your gift cards next week.
• We want to OVERWHELM them with blessings.
• We need some better computers and video equipment
• What if the church was REALLY ONE?
• Great staff meeting today - lots to think about for the future.
• Small group tonight - love it.
• A whole family is going to be baptized together at our Baptism Bash on July 19.
• Our kids go to the beach next weekend.  Taking a LARGE group.
• Next week the video will work and it will melt your face off.
• Almost 26 years of marriage - big day coming up the 19th.  WOW!

Monday Mind Dump

• Too wiped to dump last night.
• Minor tech glitches and the band skipped a song - otherwise good "worship" service
• Yesterday marked one year in the theater - WOW!
• I felt out of sync for a few minutes while preaching - but got my rhythm and had a blast
• I was in rare form. 
• Yes I said Matthew threw a Keg Party for Jesus and invited thieves, addicts, whores and baptists
• I used to be baptist so I poke fun at myself a lot.
• I said some other thing that got laughs - I wasn't sticking to my notes and was having fun.
• I didn't land the plane well at the end but someone still said they were placing their faith in Christ!!!
• Preached from Mark 2
• We need to make some noise
• We need to preach the word
• We need to work as a team
• We need to rip the roof off - traditional ways of getting people to Jesus aren't enough
• The only thing constant about Crosspoint should be change
• The mission is people not a place to meet
• Stay tuned for ministry opportunity announcements.
• Met with the Lead Team yesterday - we are planning big for the fall - get ready!
• One Prayer starts Sunday - fired up about it.
• We are going to bless the socks off of a local mission
• Taking today "off" by working and going home - no church stuff.
• Colonoscopy on Thursday. 
• The medicine to clean you out is like drinking snot.

Sunday Mind Dump

• First Sunday off since Feb 24. I NEEDED a break.
• Felt weird to sleep in and then show up at church "on time" with my grandkids and daughter.
• Got to sit with my wife in a service for the first time in our history!
• Kevin, our worship/arts/video pastor did a good job with the sermon today.  Listen Here
• Because I am bi-vocational I basically work 7 days a week.  Having a Sunday off on a 3 day weekend is HUGE
• There was no "altar call" and today's message wasn't about salvation - but 3 people said "Im placing my faith in Christ today" via our communication cards.  WOW!
• We have a lot of hurting people who come to Crosspoint!
• Changing the way we think is HARD to do - but Kevin nailed in - we are to have the mind of Christ and that changes EVERYTHING!
• Indiana Jones jacked up our service/lobby experience and KidZone today.  Thankfully we are back to "normal" next week.
• We'll still have to be done earlier since movies will be starting earlier.
• Next weekend is the one year mark of being in the theater.  Amazing!
• This has been a great relaxing weekend!!!
• Happy Memorial day and thanks to all who served in our armed forces and those who gave their lives so we can live ours!

• I'm glad Prison Break is over
• Chronicles of Narnia shows started at 9:15! 
• That jacked up our lobby experience and KidZone
• Our volunteers rolled with it though
• The theater had a total of 8 people show up for the movie.  I predicted 10
• Tough sermon today - probably because it hit too close to home.
• Felt like my rhythm was off.
• We had to cancel a really good song today - several reasons contributed to the decision.
• It was tough to make because my daughter was the vocalist.
• I hit some things pretty hard today
• Our set up in the auditorium was blazing fast.
• We were done rehearsing by 9:15
• Im looking forward to OnePrayer.  We had a pretty good trailer for it this morning.  I'll link to it later.
• Yes - I am addicted to blogging - but thanks for reading.
• No - I am not quitting blogging - but I will post later what addiction I most want need to break free from.
• Senior Recognition tonight.
• Graduation on Thursday
• Grandkids get here tomorrow!
